Of course, we have to take care of our physical wellbeing before we can truly thrive. This is as simple as eating real foods, moving our bodies and getting the best sleep we can. However, simple doesn’t mean it’s easy. For me, good sleep is the most challenging. I have learned deep peaceful sleep comes from knowing I have been my best and done my best each day.

While “living our best lives” is going to look different for each of us, there are common themes. Reflecting on the success I have enjoyed and witnessed others having, it all boils down to three areas of critical importance: Relationships, Positivity and Motivation. I call them RPMs. A focus here is guaranteed to keep you moving forward. (PS: Let us know your thoughts in the comments on Women On Topp!)

Relationships: Prioritize People

It’s people that either give you opportunities or recommend you to others. It’s also people (and pets) that make this amazing life more enjoyable. So every day, be sure you are nurturing your closest relationship as well as reaching deep into your network to let people know how much they mean to you. My favorite thing to do is call someone out of the blue just to say hi and see how they are doing. This is an easy way to make your day and theirs.

Positivity: Believe In Yourself and Your Abilities

I start each morning with an intentional statement.  I AM….. And I WILL…. Fill in what’s most important to you in showing up as your best self and getting the most out of each day.

Gratitude is the best way to get into a positive mindset. Writing or saying out loud what you are grateful for sends positivity into the universe and back into your life. You must actively practice gratitude and deeply believe that you can and you will create what you most want in your life.

Motivation: Do Your Best Including Something Crazy

We all need purpose. We also have to keep learning and growing to reach our potential. To truly thrive, you need to push the boundaries. My favorite advice is to do something each day that scares you. Getting out of your comfort zone is what really gets your heart pumping. Go for the what ifs? and the why not mes? Take chances and you will be surprised by how many of them pay off.

These are simple tips to add to your daily routine. Simple but not easy as they take some discipline and commitment. I assure you a focus on your RPMs will most certainly make your days more fulfilling and keep you moving forward.

Have fun growing, thriving and living your best life.

How To Find Your Inner Genius

Genius is not handed out at birth, it is earned. Does, “I’m just bad at math, sorry!” or “Geography and I aren’t a thing” sound familiar? Before making a statement like this, think about how many hours you’ve put into improving your skills. If your answer is 0 - 12 hours on a single occasion - you’re not bad at it, you just haven’t committed to try

Making The Most Of Your Maternity Leave

For women who have worked for years in busy roles, maternity leave is a different phase in life. There is no pull from the office, there are long days at home, and you are at the beck and call of a different master. No matter what you choose to do and how long you take, own the maternity leave experience, and make it a memorable time for yourself.

Overwhelmed? Overloaded?

I can’t get anything done”, “I’m burning the candle at both ends”, “I don’t know how to get organized” Sound familiar? These are always some of the biggest complaints I receive from coaching clients and my followers online. I always recommend creating an action list in your daily planner.

Are You Paying Attention To Your Mental Health?

Our minds are complex. But, we live in our minds a majority of the time. Our minds become our home. We have to make our home a safe place for us. The mind can be tricky. It can be filled with more thoughts than it is able to hold. The mind can place a great weight on your shoulders, especially when it holds negative thoughts.

Many of us face fast paced environment that usually consists of deadlines on fire and endless responsibilities daily. Add running errands and carving out time for family, friends and maybe a pet or two on the list, and the memes of crying characters from reality shows seem more relatable than ever.
