Growing up I had two particularly important female figures in my life, my mother and grandmother. Mom taught me strength and resilience; she was her own Boss. My grandmother, on the other hand, lived to serve others. She taught me compassion and kindness. No matter what career path I would choose, I knew that I had to use my strength and talents to better the lives of others.
Searching for our next business venture
I left the workforce to become a stay-at-home-mom- for almost 6 years. Once my last child was born, I decided it was time to focus on my professional goals. I went after my bachelor’s degree in business management and decided to create a few startup companies which turned out to not be successful. I do not want to look at them as failures as they have become great lessons. While searching for our next business venture, my husband and I took a trip to Amsterdam. When we saw their approach to the cannabis industry, we decided we wanted to be a part of it. What also accelerated our decision to move forward with our plan was our infant daughter experiencing a seizure, which was one of the scariest moments of my life.
I never wanted this to happen to my daughter again, not to mention that I began suffering from anxiety attacks and sleep deprivation. It was starting to take a toll on my physical and mental health. From our prior research, we found out that consumers were reporting that CBD was helping their children with seizures and adults with sleep, anxiety, appetite control, and much more. I decided to start taking CBD for myself to see how it worked and was amazed at how it helped me, and I knew this was something I had to be a part of.
My husband and I decided to drop everything
My husband and I decided to drop everything. We packed our stuff and moved our entire family to Colorado, one of the early pioneer states in the cannabis market. It was a scary decision to make. My advice to you is, if you want to follow your dreams, you must take a leap of faith and go for it! If you want something you have never had, you must be prepared to do something you have never done. I am now the proud owner of Verde Vitality, based in colorful Colorado.
Our ideal customer is anyone interested in an alternative natural way to heal their minds and bodies. We hope that it benefits our customers as it has benefited us and so many others.
My mission is to bring consumers a quality product
As the owner and partner of Verde Vitality, my mission is to bring consumers a quality product, from a family-owned and operated business, at a price that anyone can afford.
Following the same core principles of Verde Vitality, I have started my own active-wear clothing line for women! We spend a lot more time at home now, and during this transition, we have all endured higher levels of stress and anxiety. Physical fitness is more important than ever to make sure we are staying healthy, feeling great, and releasing that stress out. I thought, why not look great while doing it?
Whether going to the gym or working out from home, Chica Activa has an active-wear product for any woman looking to stay healthy and stay fit. Whether you are a busy businesswoman, a young college student, or a busy mom navigating through the rough waters of everyday life, Chica Activa carries an activewear product for you. To honor the values that my mother and grandmother taught me, we donate a portion of the proceeds from our companies to charities that support and encourage education for young and adult women.
More than ever I feel it is important to support local and family-owned businesses. I believe that if we focus on the needs of our customers, bring quality products at an affordable price, and continue to give back to our communities, we will succeed and move forward.
Our next goal
Our next goal is to expand our businesses to Latin America and Europe. I have no doubt that within the next five years we will accomplish that and much more.
I am Yuliana Rimer, a proud Mexican American woman, a proud wife and mother of five children, and proud to have started my own businesses that are helping people when they need it most.
To all women entrepreneurs out there, stay focused, stay strong. Keep dreaming big. With hard work and determination, you can achieve anything.
