Marissa Cherepanov: Building Brands, Driving Growth, Creating Lasting Impact

Marissa Cherepanov has built a career defined by vision, strategy, and results. Known for scaling brands, optimizing operations, and driving multimillion-dollar growth for globally recognized companies, she has established herself as a leader who transforms ideas into impact. With expertise in brand positioning, marketing strategy, and business expansion, Marissa has consistently elevated organizations to long-term success while building teams that thrive under her guidance.

As CEO of No Girl Left Behind, Marissa extends this expertise to a global platform that fosters connection, leadership, and growth. Her work is not just about business performance—it’s about creating opportunities for transformation at scale. Recognized among Brainz Magazine’s Top 500 Global Leaders and honored for her influence across industries, she continues to shape how companies and individuals rise to meet their greatest potential.

In this Women On Topp feature, Marissa reflects on the values that guide her decisions, the mindset that drives her work, and her approach to building lasting connections in new markets. She shares how resilience and strategy have fueled her journey and offers insight into the principles that turn challenges into stepping stones.

Her story is one of determination, clarity, and growth—a reminder that lasting impact comes when vision meets execution.

You’ve accomplished so much across multiple industries—what personal values have guided you through each chapter of your journey?

Across each chapter of my journey, leadership, founding Inspire with Marissa, and helping lead No Girl Left Behind, my compass has always been my values surrounding helping others, the constant desire to help anyone I can, and putting people first.

Determination and a belief in a better future have fueled me to keep moving forward, while humility, grace, and the wisdom of time and experience have shaped how I navigate situations.

Empathy guides me every day by reminding me to see situations through the eyes of others. It shapes how I lead, connect, and create impact, with compassion at the center of every decision.

At the core, my values mean being able to end each day with peace, knowing I made the best decisions I could for myself and for every person I encountered. That alignment between conviction and compassion is what drives my work today: helping others discover their own values, live by them, and lead in a way that creates lasting impact.

What does “empowerment” mean to you personally—not just professionally?

Empowerment, to me, means living unapologetically in what feels right—because I’ve stepped into it, I’ve earned it. I spent years staying quiet through seasons of despair, finding my way back alone through mental awareness and mental rehearsal. By the time I reached my forties, it felt as though I had lived many lives, each one requiring me to adapt, rebuild, and grow.

Through that journey, I came to understand there was nothing to hide or be ashamed of. Empowerment became the ability to step fully into who I was meant to be, proud of my scars, carrying myself with dignity and continuing to learn.

How do you design your empowerment events to create lasting transformation for attendees?

The No Girl Left Behind events are unique in their design, offering age-specific seminars and breakout sessions tailored for impact, youth sessions for ages 9–15 and adult sessions for ages 16 and up. Each event is led by our core team while also engaging local women who step in to help and join the movement, creating both global consistency and community connection.

It’s more than a conference, it’s a day of transformation through hands-on workshops, open dialogue, and shared experiences. What makes the impact lasting is our ongoing commitment: we remain connected to attendees, revisit cities annually, and extend support through online resources. Every woman and girl walks away connected to a network that will stand beside them anytime they need it.

We want girls to know they are not alone, that vulnerability is strength, and together we can rise. Attendees often share that they leave feeling as though they’ve released years of pent-up emotion, while youth frequently describe breakthroughs in confidence and self-awareness.

The presence of therapists, coaches, educators, trauma specialists, and career mentors elevates each gathering, but the true impact comes from the collective effort. It’s a team movement, one that transforms individual lives while building a powerful sisterhood that lasts well beyond the event.

You’re a strategist at heart—what’s your process when helping brands break into new markets or scale up?

At the core, it’s always about relationships, the human element. If you’re driven solely by profit or recognition, your efforts won’t be sustainable. You have to be rooted in your values and carry an almost audacious belief in the good you can spread, the problems you can solve, and the people you can help. When your why is anchored in service to others, your how will always show up, even in the toughest times.

Grassroots outreach and community support are critical. You’ve got to take the time to truly connect, to understand people, and to recognize that every path you cross holds meaning, the universe doesn’t make mistakes. Understanding this allows you to grow quality connections that spark organic growth. Do good, and you will receive good.

Breaking into new markets should never be seen as purely transactional; it’s relational, emotional, and yes, sometimes messy. But if your why is in the right place, the journey itself becomes the reward. And often, the toughest times end up being the moments you look back on as the best, because they built the foundation for everything that followed.

How does your work as a board advisor influence your approach to mentorship and leadership development?

Serving as an active Board Advisor for the Women in Leadership program at Linfield has expanded my ability to mentor others in meaningful ways. By engaging with a diverse network of high-level female leaders, I gain fresh perspectives, exchange ideas, and deepen my own growth.

This role has elevated how I guide others, allowing me to challenge, support, and empower them with tools and knowledge that come from being part of such a forward-thinking initiative. The collaboration with Linfield’s incredible team and the change-makers leading the program ensures that my impact as a mentor continues to grow in both depth and reach.

What’s next for No Girl Left Behind and your leadership platforms—what big vision are you working toward now?

Looking ahead, No Girl Left Behind is closing out a successful 2025 with fundraisers that will set the stage for 2026. The growth of this movement continues to inspire our team to expand, and next year we plan to bring our events to even more cities, each stop creating new opportunities to grow our network of female change-makers. Our first 2026 event will be in Canada early in the year, with additional North American dates being finalized this winter.

Beyond our in-person events, we remain committed to accessibility. We always offer online resources at nogirlleftbehindevent.com, and those who join us at any event or online program can stay connected long after the day concludes. Ultimately, our mission is to keep growing alongside like-minded movements so we can sustain our reach and ensure as many women and girls as possible know they are never alone, that they can step into their power with confidence, strategy, and support.

In 2026, No Girl Left Behind will focus on strengthening its foundation and expanding its reach, ensuring the movement continues to grow and impact more lives on an even greater scale.
