Coreen Salamanca

Empowering women to live their best life

My name is Coreen, and I am a personal finance counselor who empowers women to live their best life through health and wealth.

If you had told me 10 years ago that I would be a financial wellness adviser, I would have laughed at you. Coming from a Filipino-American family, I was pressured to become a nurse, engineer, or accountant, but I was creative and rebellious.

I had no idea that my creativity could combine with my technical skills to help others.

My Family Lost Everything

My journey to becoming a money coach started during The Great Recession of 2009. Growing up, my family lived very comfortably. We were blessed and did not have to worry about money at all. When the recession hit, I watched my family lose everything—their jobs, income, assets, and more. Watching their struggle showed me that you can be on top of the mountain one minute and at the bottom the next.

No one deserves to go through that. The recession showed me those money problems are not just a financial struggle—it’s an emotional struggle too. Shame and guilt can consume a person. Especially in my culture, money was not something you were allowed to discuss. Unfortunately, these feelings can keep a person from reaching out for help when they need it most.

Watching those closest to me lose everything made me question my purpose in life.

And I knew that somehow I could make a difference.

I Knew I Had to Make an Impact

In 2012, I became a Licensed Independent Broker to help people regain control of their financial lives. Many of my clients needed more than just financial advice—they needed emotional support and guidance in order to make their financial decisions align with their core values. Eventually, I realized that I could make a bigger impact by creating my own firm.

So I launched Coremoney Coaching in January 2018 to focus on money mindset, money behavior, risk management, and building and creating wealth that aligns with core values and goals, custom-designed for each client.

Money coaching is my purpose, and I am on a mission to empower as many career-driven female professionals to master their money and be overall bad-asses in all aspects!

A Money Coach Can Change Your Life

Money coaching and financial wellness are super important to protect what you value. Many of us have negative money habits without even knowing.

A financial wellness coach can help you understand why you spend the way that you do and ways that you can prepare and build your money for the future. You will also learn the importance of risk management, helping you make sure that whatever you earn you are able to keep and grow, not lose.

A money coach can show you that it IS possible to sustain a living, enjoy your life, and still prepare for the future. You can take control of your money. You can make a change. And with mastering your money comes choices that allow you more freedom and flexibility

What Makes Me Different

My entire approach to financial advising is completely different. You have to look at the core of the reasons behind your money habits in order to make a real change. We implement a CORE values approach in our CORE program, Create Opportunity, Refine, and Enjoy through 1on1 coaching. And for those who want to benefit from other badass women can join our BALLHER mentorship. BALLHER is a community for Bad Ass Ladies Living Her Empowered Results.

Together we look at your money behavior, habits, history and views on money, personal finance, goals, and THEN we look at planning, whether it’s through the CORE program or BALLHER mentorship.

I’m not a stuffy, uptight financial adviser. I am here to help support you and help you figure out the best plan that works for you and your unique situation. That means I will be your listening ear, your cheerleader, and your guide.

Something else that makes me different is that I know what it’s like to be a starving artist because I actually was one throughout most of my 20’s. I once lived in the family room of my friend’s apartment in San Francisco post-undergrad, barely made ends meet working 12 hours a day, and was $10,000 deep in credit card debt. Now I’m debt-free, minus my mortgage, building several businesses, and will soon be scouting for another rental property.

Just because you follow your passion doesn’t mean you have to live an impoverished lifestyle. I envisioned the person I wanted to become and the life I wanted for myself and worked towards that goal. Dreams do come true! You just need to plan, execute, and repeat!

Everyone deserves to be in control of their life and financial situation. You can make a change, and—who knows—you may even have fun doing it.

Let me help you take the first steps to financial independence. Book with me at www.calendly.com/coremoneycoaching/calltoaction or email me at coreen@coremoneycoaching.com to schedule your free initial consultation with a personal finance counselor.
